It makes me happy....

            Being a teacher provides me with so many opportunities to be happy, but there are a few times during the day that stand out. It makes me happy when:  The students shout out that they found a word from our vocabulary list in their reading books.  One student sincerely apologizes to another for something that has been said or done in class. I play the Disney channel on Pandora and the kids all break out into song. Knitting baby hats is their favorite part of the day. The older students and younger students read together. I am welcome in the other grades simply to observe what they are learning and to be able to interact with the students about what they are doing. I am greeted by my colleagues with a welcoming smile and genuine "good morning."      Teaching is a challenging profession, especially leading into the holiday and vacation season. Try not let the hard stuff weigh you down, otherwise, you might miss the thin...
