The Next Wave
It seems like we are always bracing for something since COVID started and this year is no different. We survived the first round of illness in the schools at the beginning of the year (colds, stomach bugs and such) and that subsided a bit. Now we are seeing a tidal wave or at least an impending wave of more colds, the Flu and Covid. No one is immune to this stuff and we are SOOOOO close to Thanksgiving break!
I know it is a struggle for teachers, parents, and students to even consider staying home these days. After so many missed school days in recent years, the thought of keeping students home or staying home ourselves knowing there are few substitutes to choose from is causing the usual consternation, and it really stinks! However, the germs are spreading quickly and we need to try and get ahead of this before the wave crashes and we are all tumbling under water toward a rough deposit on shore.
Remember to:
- Get your rest. Better to go to bed early and stay rested than stressing about tomorrow's lessons.
- Get plenty of fresh air.
- Wash hands.
- Eat healthy (or at least do your best to eat regular meals and not a lot of junk).
- Drink plenty of water.
- Find ways to laugh or make others laugh. (I hear it is the BEST medicine.)
- Be kind.
