Mondays....
A New Approach to Monday Mornings
Motivate yourself. Set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier than usual. Why? So you can sit with a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever you drink (if anything) and just take a few minutes to get your head into the game in silence. Make sure it is quiet and whatever you do- do not look at your phone or email before or during this short time. Think about how you are going to tackle the day and/or the week. Give yourself a little positive pep-talk.
Organize your lunch, your desk, your "bring back to school" bag (you know the one...the one that you bring back and forth between school and home and then never touch it at home), have your keys set out and have it all ready to go. So, when you are ready to walk out the door- you don't have to run around looking for stuff.
Notice nature along the way to school. Try to pay attention to cool things that you see outside your window. You never know what might be an inspiration for the day or the week.
Decide to have a great day, the minute you walk through the school doors.
Acknowledge and greet your colleagues. They are in the same S.S. Monday Ship that you are. So, take the initiative to give someone else a little boost!
Yippee! When you have completed this first day of the week. Give yourself a little pat on the back and know that you are on your way to Friday:)
If you are wondering why I might be creating a blog post in this unusual fashion, it is because I can. Sometimes I just like to challenge myself to write in different ways, try various styles of poetry, and simply mix it up. I hope that this post has you thinking about what you can do to tackle the Monday Blues.
