One Personal Goal for the School Year

I Will Not Bring School Work Home

I am pretty sure that this is one goal that I set for myself each year, but by golly- I want to achieve it this year! Here's how I'm going to do it.

  1. I will stay at school until my plans for the next day are posted on the board.
  2. I will stay at school until my documents, hand-outs and plans are laid out in the classroom or on my desk for the next day.
  3. I will not waste time chatting with colleagues for more that 10 minutes past when the bus picks up students(unless the boss or colleague needs me for something).
  4. I will work a little each day on the next week's plans so I can have them all done prior to the weekend.
    The Details:
I need to leave the building by 4:30 at the latest each day.
        - I want to enjoy my weekends, so if for any reason I get off track with my planning- I will focus
on completing Monday's plans, so I don't have to stress out about it on Sunday. Monday will be              done before I leave school on Friday.
        - I will review my goal with my colleagues so they can help me stay on target and won't think I
          am just ignoring them.

I want to maintain my school/home balance because I have lots of things I want to be doing at home once I get there. I have a fair amount of responsibilities and projects that I am working on and it is critical that I leave work at school. Now, I know this is a big goal for me because I am a worrier and want to do a good job. However, I also know that if I can achieve this goal, I will be able to be present when I am at home and not doing school work in the living room every night!

Please share one goal that have for this school year...that is if you have one. It would be awesome if you could put your goal in the comments for all blog followers to see. (PS- if you are not following my blog, it would be great if you did. If you do not want to- that's fine.)

    1. Thanks! It’s a scary thing putting goals down for everyone to see, but sometimes that is just what it takes to solidify them.
