Dear COVID

Dear COVID, 

    I am writing to you today to tell you that you have overstayed your arrival to our doorstep. Although we have learned some new ways to live, educate and do business with you here, we feel that it is time for you to go back to whence you came. 

    Your arrival was like a tsunami. We could see you coming from afar, but simply did not have adequate time to prepare for the enormity of your power. Upon receding however, the destruction you left was revealed and it took a long time to recover from that initial blow. 

    Just as we started to get our feet under us, you came back again....not quite a tsunami, but more of a tidal wave that  was concentrated in different areas of the States and around the world. Over the past 2 years, your storms have continued to plague us and we are tired of fighting to be prepared for your next surge. 

    As a teacher, I am begging you to simply go away. I have seen the devastation in schools and although we were hoping that you would leave us alone so we could at least finish school and let out our breath- you have decided to punish us yet again. We are struggling to maintain our hope and our courage to keep going, but the finish line is so close.....

    Whatever did we do to deserve the wrath of you?
