Who Is Mrs. Bovat?

In case you were wondering who I am and why I might be writing a log for teachers.....

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Samantha Bovat and I am a 5th/6th grade teacher at Wardsboro Elementary in Wardsboro, Vermont. I have been teaching there for 5 years (this is my 6th) and have been teaching these two grades for the whole time. For the past two years, I have also taken on the role of Co-President for our local union. 

Prior to teaching, I worked in the Central Office for 5 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and then for the Director of Special Education. Those two positions gave me opportunities for a sundry of other roles in the office and I was able to get to know ,many teachers as well as administrators in the various schools. 

Prior to all of that, I was an entrepreneur. I was a content and copywriter for websites and a ghostwriter for a magazine. I offered marketing consulting for small businesses in all professions. I have also worked at a bank. 

All of these various jobs have given me venues to learn new skills. However, if you ask me what I want to do when I "grow up," I will tell you that I want to be a writer. And that is why I started blogging again, so that I can get back into the practice of regular writing. 

Oh, and I am a wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. I am also a sister and daughter-in-law.
