I did it, and I hope you did it too!

I actually enjoyed my school break without worrying about school (too much.) This is a first for me that I can recall in the past two years. I was able to walk away from worrying, checking my emails, and was simply able to enjoy my family. I even let go of trying to blog - which I clearly did.

Anyway, I know that it is easy to tell colleagues to go ahead and enjoy their vacation weeks, but it is not as easily done. Especially when we are still dealing with the pandemic. That being said, we are hopefully at the tail end of the constant stress of worrying about the dang virus spreading all of the time. This was a big reason for my ability to relax. I didn't do anything that would cause me to question every step I made or person that I saw. Even though I would have liked to get together with many others that I have been neglecting, the lack of contact has allowed me to freely move forward to going back to school guilt free. I just want to move past this undercurrent of feeling guilty for EVERYTHING I do, and let's face it.....I haven't actually done much of anything! It's annoying quite frankly!

Now, I also want to assure others that I don't care what you did over break, because I cannot control that, and I refuse to worry about it. I did what I needed to do for myself and that was get some rest. So, unless maple sap and fresh air can spread COVID, I did pretty well for me. That's the key here folks. What are you now able to do for yourself? If visiting family was filled your bucket- great! If working to make some extra money to pay bills was what you did- super!

That's all I have to say about this. I hope you were able to enjoy as much of this break as you could. Try not to worry about what everyone else did, because it may make you unnecessarily anxious. (If you live in an area where you still had school....reflect on how you spent your last break or plan to do on an upcoming one.) Enjoy the sun and fresh air and know that spring is coming which will allow for more frolicking in nature. Deep Breath and Release! Welcome back to school.
