Days 2&3 Of "Vacation"

Good Morning Everyone! Well, as you can see, I decided to skip writing yesterday. But, I want to assure you all (because I know you are out there worrying about me and my goals), that I have not looked at my school email. Not even once!

Yesterday, I really only had one goal and that was to go to the grocery store. That was done. The rest of the day, was spent with family and a little napping on the couch. Today, however, will be another story. Which leads me to some goals.

Goal #3: Complete a new blog post.

If you are reading this blog post, then I have successfully completed this goal. Of course, before writing this post, I worked to set up a new WordPress blog site. I gave it my best shot and was fairly successful. Then I called on my friend Jen Kramer to help clean it up and finalize the details. Needless to say, she talked me out of it (for good reason) and gave me some great advice on how to move forward without moving from my current blog. After all- "technology has changed a lot since you and I worked together in the web development space." So, here I am, sticking to Plan A- writing on my blog every week with some future goals for future stuff. (You will have to stay tuned for that down the road.) Thanks for the much needed kick in the pants Jen!

Goal #4: Get Ready for Doing Our Taxes

I know, I know....this is not a very fun goal to check off, but the reality is that now is a good a time as any to get all our stuff together to deliver to our tax people. The sooner this is off my plate- the happier I'll be. So, I will get in that office, organize all of my paperwork and be done with that in 1 hour or less. That seems doable.

Goal #5: Take a walk

As I look out the window, I can see the sun shining and I can see the deer eating off the edge of our property. I can also see the icicles hanging off the roof. It is winter, after all, but I need to get some fresh air and exercise. So, I must bundle up and get out there later this morning, when it warms up just a bit.

Those are about all of the goals I care to muster today. I don't want to over do it, especially, since I am on "vacation." I say it like this because I know that I have some things I need to get done here at home while I am off from school. And as per usual, lesson planning creeps into my mind as I look to start each day. But today, I will force myself to push those to the back of the room and focus on the things on my "me" list.

I hope all of you readers out there enjoy a sunny Monday! Here's to hoping the sap runs!
